is another of Rita Francis-Little's outstanding Carisbrooke terriers.
Tidy's pedigree is full of solid, healthy, temperamentally sound Jack Russells....some of the best that Australia has produced. Tidy's dam is the gorgeous Carisbrooke Mary-Anne (photos on our "Gallery" page), our Crossfire's mother. Her sire is Aust CH Merrilong Siroco (photos of Siroco are also on our "Gallery" page), the sire of our magnificient Merrilong Kalvaro. It is the pedigree and the structure we wanted, and later to linebreed.
At 7 months of age Tidy is 10 1/4 inches with the kind of head and bone we strive to add to our pack, yet without being coarse, has a gorgeous Carisbrooke head, a long flexible neck, arrow straight legs, exceptional layback of shoulder and plenty of bend of stifle. Tidy has a rough coat and a lot of it, but an easily hand-pulled rough with a plethora of dense, tight undercoat giving her truly a weatherproof jacket.
Tidy has that "on her toes" cheeky show attitude that is so necessary in a top show bitch. She has already been awarded BIS baby puppy and several group placements always shown by Rita. Yet with all of her fire and showoff attitude she loves to "chill out" by lying on her back on someone's lap until she falls fast asleeep. What a sweetheart!! Still quite a baby, Tidy lets you know that special bonding time is at the top of her requirements in her human mom.
Mrs. Rita Francis-Little's Carisbrooke kennel, just outside of Sydney, Australia, is world renouned for consistent quality over decades. Rita has been breeding Jack Russell Terriers longer than the breed has been recognized in Australia, and was instrumental taking this breed into the ANKC. She has written THE accepted illustrated breed standard for this breed, and as a Terrier Group judge Mrs. Francis-Little has judged the breed all over the country
Rita demands a terrier that is spannable, flexible, good moving with plenty of substance but not so heavy as to be cloddy. She has successfully combined the colonial blood of Aust CH Malung Orinoco and other outstanding colonial bred Jacks with the English working terrier blood from Ann Brewer's Tarsia kennel in England. It is this combination of bloodlines that Rita believes to be the ultimate 10" to 12" Jack Russell Terrier. We have to agree. Rita's terriers have been consistent in type over the generations. You can pick out a Carisbrooke head and type from among a ring full of Jack Russell Terriers. When you see a Carisbrook Jack Russell you will see fabulous bend of stifle, beautiful layback of shoulder, excellent length and return of upper arm, beautiful toplines, long necks and outstanding movement to go along with those beautiful heads.
The litmus test of any quality dog after breed type is sound, proper movement.
Rita's terriers can really move. They have exceptional ground covering, fluid movement with level toplines when moving laterally, and are even front to back when coming and going. How do we know this so far away from Australia in America? Through numerous videos of Rita's dogs over the years at shows throughout Australia.
We can hardly wait to begin showing Tidy. We know she will make a major contribution to the American AKC and UKC gene pool and to the show ring. She has already made a major impact on our home and has worked her way well into our hearts.
Carisbrooke YuleTide is CERF clear and with normal patellas. Her sire and dam and dam are also CERF clear and with normal patellas. Tidy will be registered with the United Kennel Club and the American Kennel Club and will be shown in both venues.
