(pronounced Deer Mid) comes from the kennel of Mrs. Lindy Donato in Queensland, Australia. Lindy has been breeding Jack Russell Terriers for many years and is not a stranger to the showring.
Lindy's preference for type and pedigree is a blend of the the English and colonial blood, and Diarmuid's pedigree reflects this being linebred on Aust and NZ CH Pineview Drum Na Drochit. Drum Na Drochit was a son of the well known import Aust CH Tarsia Monocle of Bohunt from Ann Brewer's kennel in England. Diarmuid's sire is Aust CH Swampwood Mick Madigan, a gorgeous 11 1/2" very lightly broken Drum Na Drochit son that has done so much winning in Australia for breeder-owner Trish Brown. Diarmuid's dam, Carisbrooke Delia, was bred by Rita Francis-Little. Delia's maternal grandsire is Drum Na Drochit, but her sire's pedigree is all colonial lines going back to the world renowned Aust GRCH Malung Orinoco.
Diarmuid has as much bone and a gorgeous head as anyone could wish for on a very small Russell with the most beautiful, small, perfectly set ears. His coat is hard and dense with a distinct undercoat that keeps him warm in the bitterest cold when he insists on playing outside with his 4 legged friends. His legs are as straight as a steel rod. At 16 months of age he is 11 inches tall with a tiny, flexible chest and a gorgeous front with arrow straight legs. It is utterly amazing how much ground this little male can effortlessly cover. He has the reach and drive of a much larger terrier. Diarmuid has plenty of underjaw and width of muzzle, something we see lacking in so many smooths and lightly brokens. Diarmuid is a happy-go-lucky boy always on his toes and ready to play. He greets all 2 and 4 legged creates with a smile. His temperament is superb and he approaches life with the world belongs to him confidence.
We look forward to getting this boy into the show ring and incorporating him in our breeding program. With 15 Australian champions in only 4 generations of his pedigree there is no doubt this boy carries the genes that make a great and prepotent stud dog. It is the mix of the English and colonial lines that we envision in our breeding program. Many thanks to Lindy for sharing this outstanding young male with us. No doubt he will establish himself in the show ring and as an outstanding prepotent sire in years to come.
Diarmuid is BAER normal, CERF clear and with normal patellas. His sire and dam are CERF clear. He stands at stud to approved AKC registered bitches with a current clear CERF, normal BAER test, orthopedic clearances and a negative brucellosis.
