is the type of terrier that we have been searching for to continue the tradition of exellence at Falling Branch. Crossfire is the epitome of a show dog in stucture and movement with a pedigree that is solidly packed with quality Australian Jack Russell Terriers. At 11 1/2 inches with tremendous head and bone, superb angles, text book perfect movement, a fabulous rough coat and an easily spannable chest Crossfire without a doubt will make a tremendous impact on the American gene pool in the AKC and UKC. Crossfire has already produced a BIS daughter which stands witness to his prepotence as a stud dog for quality. He is the first Aussie bred import in the US to earn a BIS and to produce a BIS.
Crossfire comes from the renowned kennel of Mrs. Rita Francis-Little, just outside of Sydney, Australia. Rita has been breeding Jack Russell Terriers longer than the breed has been recognized in Australia, and was instrumental taking this breed into the ANKC. She has written THE accepted illustrated breed standard for this breed, and as a Terrier Group judge Mrs. Francis-Little has judged the breed all over the country
Rita's preference is for a terrier that is spannable, flexible, good moving with plenty of substance but not so heavy as to be cloddy. She has successfully combined the colonial blood of Aust CH Malung Orinoco and other outstanding colonial bred Jacks with the English working terrier blood from Ann Brewer's Tarsia kennel in England. It is this combination of bloodlines that Rita believes to be the ultimate 10" to 12" Jack Russell Terrier, and we have to agree. Rita's terriers have been consistent in type from generation to generation. You can pick out a Carisbrooke head and type from among a ring full of Jack Russell Terriers. And when you see a Carisbrook Jack Russell you will see fabulous bend of stifle, beautiful layback of shoulder, excellent length and return of upper arm, beautiful toplines, long necks and outstanding movement to go along with those beautiful heads. Crossfire can hold his own among those exceptional terriers that Rita has produced for generation after generation. We know that Rita is as proud of this boy as we are!
Crossfire is co-owned with Melissa Wilson D.V.M of Clinton, TN, and Melissa is as excited about this boy's future contribution to Rolling Hill Russells as we are at Falling Branch. We are honored to have this boy to add to our breeding programs.
Crossfire's pedigree is full of solid, healthy, temperamentally sound, well angulated Jack Russells....some of the best that Australia has produced. Crossfire's dam, Carisbrooke Mary-Anne can be seen on our "Gallery" page as can his sire, Aust CH Toucansto Panda Bear. Although Crossfire is a deep, rich tri color, he takes his type from his dam as well as his sire.
Crossfire earned his championship quickly. His second show weekend he was awarded two Group II placements and a Group IV. The last two shows in this cluster of weekend shows Crossfire was awarded two Group I, a Reserve BIS and BIS. His third weekend out he was BOB and won the champion class 3 times giving him 3 legs toward his GRCH. He quickly finished his GRCH. This boy loves to show! He will be shown in the UKC and then heavily campaigned in the AKC when the breed goes into the terrier group. He may make a trip or two overseas to compete in the European show arena.
Crossfire's first litters are on the ground and registered with the AKC and the UKC. We are extremely impressed with his offspring and look forward to watching these pups mature. One of his daughters is already making her mark with multiple BOB wins, a Reserve BIS and a BIS, proving this boy has the superior genetics and prepotency to establish himself as a top sire of quality offspring.
